And here's another one, looking for your money and your identity:
"You have been selected to access the Walmart 2 Steps Survey and
win a $150.00 gift certificate.
Please Click this link:
(the link looks like a walmart address - walmart-winners)
And complete the form to receive your reward. Thank you."
DO NOT CLICK THE LINK! THIS IS A SCAM!
There have been others that appear to be from Walmart. Be very, very cautious and if you have any doubt about these types of emails, go directly to the home site and check it out. In other words, DON'T click on the link provided in the email.
If you get a message from a bank, paypal, a survey firm, anything that will potentially ask for identifying information about you, delete it. Open your web browser and go to the actual website of your bank, paypal, the supposed survey firm, etc. DO NOT USE THE LINK IN THE EMAIL. IT IS NOT WHAT THEY SAY IT IS!
There is a photo contest going on monthly with the BEAR "Good News" Magazine. They are asking amateur photographers to e-mail photos to them. The winning photo gets on the cover of the magazine, and the photographer's name is published on the inside of the issue. Anyone interested can e-mail photos to patti@kcnet.org. If anyone has questions, they can call 769-2327.
Another email has hit our membership, requesting username and password. PLEASE, DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE MESSAGES. When you give these spammers your username and password, they use it to send SPAM out through KCnet. You've all received this type of junk mail. KCnet will never ask you for your username and password through an email message. Again, please don't respond to these phishing messages. Thank you. If you have questions, please call us at 570-893-8111.
And, another one came in: "Your transaction has been processed by WorldPay, on behalf of Amazon Inc. The invoice file is attached to this message." DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT! This is a zipped file which most likely contains malicious files. DELETE the entire message. Thank you.
If you get an email message requesting that you supply your Webmail username and password, DO NOT RESPOND. The message may appear to be from KCNET WEBMAIL SUPPORT TEAM or KCNET WEBMASTER...please do not respond to this email! We would never ask for that type of information via email. If you have responded to this type of message, please contact our office immediately to have your password changed 570-893-8111.
KCnet will save you money when you bring your empty ink or laser printer cartridges to the office at 18 East Main Street, Lock Haven. We have an agreement with Cartridge World who will stop, pick up cartridges and return them the next week - filled and ready for your pickup. They are about 1/2 the cost of a new cartridge. We have a few on hand to trade you, so that if you bring an empty in, you may be able to walk out with a full one.
In addition, you may buy one, even if you don't have one to trade. In that case, your cost is $2 more!
Note: Unfortunately, not all cartridges are refillable. For instance, currently Cartridge World does not refill Kodak cartridges.
We have added a link to the Spam Portal so customers can notify us of spam they are receiving or notify us of emails they cannot receive. Please use this service to help us make email better for you!
